Organising an Apprentice Open Day on a Sunday was always a gamble, thankfully for PCL it proved to be a very successful day all round; as one of the UK’s largest dealers for MAN Truck and Bus UK, the event was designed to showcase the opportunities available to youngsters in such a fast moving and technology driven environment.

The day attracted a good number young people and members of their families to attend, all looking at all areas where PCL and MAN Truck & Bus UK can help potential candidates onto a career in transport and technology.

With clearly defined apprenticeships available for: service technicians, parts advisors and administration staff, the PCL/MAN apprenticeship scheme has a great deal going for it and for those candidates who decide to take up the challenge.

John Vickery, Managing Director of the PCL Group, was on hand throughout the day to help and assist with showing people around the site and explaining just how an apprenticeship with PCL/MAN operates. “We had a thoroughly enjoyable day, the feedback and interest levels of those who attended has exceeded our initial projections. Based on many of the conversations held, I believe we will have a full quota of keen and talented apprentices starting here at PCL in the coming months.”

Also in attendance were staff from MAN and from S&B Training, MAN’s dedicated training team, who oversee the development of apprentices across the UK on behalf of MAN Truck & Bus UK and their franchised dealers.
